"The demise of Merambong seagrass meadows". Pics were taken in Nov 2009 before the land reclaimation project in the vicinity.

Enhalus acoroides (L.f.) Royle. Hydrocharitaceae. CN: [Malay -
Rumput laut], Tape seagrass. A monotypic genus. Habitat - growing to depths of 4 m. The plant is believed to be among the main food of the Dugong (Dugong dugon). The mat of rhizomes also provides shelter for many small animals.
